My client is looking for a Engineering Supervisor to join a growing and exciting project in Exeter.

  • Experience gained in a supervisory role in Networking or telecommunications
  • Leading on ICT infrastructure projects
  • Development of policy and procedures in a complex technical environment
  • Presenting and preparing reports to senior management
  • Part of a major incident management team
  • Problem management
  • Managing multi discipline teams
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development
  • Creating and managing the daily tasks and routines across the team to ensure optimal service performance
  • Management of all Level 2 tickets related to customer faults to be resolved within agreed SLAs
  • Regular communications with the CTO, Ops Manager, and other relevant teams, to notify them of any potential hazards within the Data Centre and Hubs that need to be cared for in a timely manner
  • Manage the daily operations within the engineering team. This includes but is not limited to: team rotas, status monitoring, escalations, upgrades, and any scheduled maintenance activity
  • Support, train, and motivate team members to ensure they are highly engaged and equipped to provide the best possible service to our customers and colleagues
  • Work on special projects, as assigned, to help achieve the goals of the department
  • Evaluate network-related issues to determine proper action to be taken and follow through to resolution
  • Generate reports to analyse the depth of network-related issues to establish root cause and recommend long term resolutions
  • Adhere to policies, including but not limited to IT Security and GDPR Policies
  • Ensure that all compliance requirements are correct and up to date
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing assigned systems in conjunction with colleagues and vendors to ensure timely and effective remedies
  • Ensure continuous improvement of end-to-end problem demarcation and troubleshooting of service quality issues to achieve measurable reduction in the time needed to restore faulty service

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Technical degree or equivalent
  • 6-8 years relevant experience, including Level 2 engineering management
  • ITIL Certified
  • Professional or vendor qualifications in Networking, Cloud and/or Telecommunications e.g. CCNP, CCSP, Azure: AZ-103, 70-537, GPON
  • Project Management experience
