Continuous Improvement and Innovation Lead

My client are looking for an experienced continuous improvement professional who has detailed knowledge of the civils construction sector. You will join a growing Mobilisation and Training team, working with multiple internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for helping our sub-contractors and internal delivery teams become faster and more productive.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation Lead

The role will span across multiple cities and multiple contractors and in each city we deliver in, we need to continuously strive to be bigger, better, faster. We will do this by clearly defining our requirements, having a clear, standardised set of processes, and giving our contractors enough time to execute all of the activities they need to build and train their teams to deliver productively from Day 1.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation Lead

What you will be doing?

  • Defining, prioritising and briefing a number of continuous improvement projects that will enable our construction partners to improve their pace and productivity, and reduce costs
  • Being the expert on what best practice is, and how to drive it out through the supply chain
  • Continually scanning industry sector for innovation opportunities and ideas
  • Capturing ideas and working with supply chain and teams to develop/pilot/deploy innovation
  • Running each improvement activity as a project, with a project brief, agreed budget and a defined set of target benefits
  • Reporting on project progress, and tracking delivered benefits against the project brief
  • Engaging with equipment, materials and machine suppliers to develop innovative and forward thinking solutions
  • Engaging with all stakeholders with respect to setting up trials and pilot activities, and putting in place corrective actions and changes to reflect stakeholder feedback
  • Ensuring that once a successful pilot has been completed, that the new process is fully documented and cascaded in order to deliver on the benefits set out at the briefing stage
