Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Erith

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue RFI's (Requests for Information) in collaboration with the technical lead.
• Review and understand project specifications including materials and equipment requirements.
• Assess tender offers for technical compliance.
• Support the Sales team by preparing project-specific tender clarifications and exclusions.
• Verify costings for materials, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Contribute to the development of the Project Execution Plan (PEP), dependent on project value.
• Provide support during pre-construction activities.
• Identify opportunities for prefabrication and assist in the design of Off-Site Assemblies.
• Produce technical submittals in a timely and accurate manner.
• Procure major plant and equipment.
• Generate and manage installation documentation and technical information.
• Attend and contribute to design meetings and client workshops.
• Review and mark up drawings and schematics before issue; propose necessary changes.
• Liaise with the client's internal controls team to understand interface requirements.
• Conduct commissionability reviews of mechanical system designs.
• Support all testing and commissioning phases.
• Compile and deliver accurate As-Built and Handover documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive and organised project records and technical documentation.
• Ideally possess basic AutoCAD and/or Revit skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous engineering experience, ideally within a construction or building services environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control.
• Familiarity with industry terminology, regulations, and technical standards.
• Proficient in numerical and analytical assessment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
